Some list controls can allow multiple selections. The user can then select multiple items by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking the items in the list. With the CheckBoxList, multiple selections are always possible. If you have a list control that supports multiple selections, you can find all the selected items by iterating through the Items collection of the list control and checking the ListItem.Selected property of each item. Figure 6-5 shows a simple web page example. It provides a list of computer languages and indicates which selections the user made when the OK button is clicked.
